Delphi Formare school project earns award in Brazil

The Brazilian Attorneys Association (OAB) from Piracicaba, Brazil recently recognized Delphi for its continuous Delphi Formare school social activities in Piracicaba, where Delphi has a components facility and Technical Center.

Delphi received the "Child and Teenagers' Friend" recognition, which is based on an evaluation of statute, financial reports, general structure, social projects quality and community relation programs.

The Delphi Formare project is responsible for enabling teenagers to acquire formal job positions. The company has assisted more than 100 youngsters in Piracicaba since the program was developed in the city in 2001. Overall, in Brazil, more than 200 teenagers have been assisted by Delphi in creating new opportunities in their lives.

"We continue to develop technologies in Piracicaba and we are very proud of this recognition," said Luiz Corrallo, Delphi Powertrain Systems South America managing director. "Our community activities are important and this is an example how we can interact with the cities that support our activities."

The Delphi Formare project continues to encourage suppliers and Delphi employees to assist poor communities, providing education and citizenship basics.
