Delphi receives 140 awards from the National Safety Council
In a recent ceremony, the U.S. National Safety Council recognized Delphi for its safety records at plants around the world. Delphi plants received 140 awards in five categories.
Alan McMillan, president and CEO of the National Safety Council, awarded these honors to Delphi for 2006-2007, a testament to the company's on-going commitment to Safety as an overriding priority. Each Delphi plant had to apply individually, and the awards span multiple divisions and regions.

"We are really proud of these safety milestones and the recognition by NSC for the hard work at our facilities," said Karen Healy, vice president of Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Operations Support Group (OSG) for Delphi. "But the 10 Leadership Awards are the recognition we should be particularly proud of, as they reward our employees and specific sites for five years of work without a lost work day accident. The National Safety Council recognition is a strong encouragement for us to continue our focus on safety in all aspects of our lives -- in our plants, on the road, and at home."
Other companies recognized included General Electric, John Deere, and Anheuser-Busch, as well as companies from the concrete, industrial and energy sectors.
Delphi is a member of the National Safety Council (NSC), and Healy serves on its Board. The NSC is a nonprofit, nongovernmental, public service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health. The NSC is a membership organization, founded in 1913 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1953.
