Delphi UTJ II Constant Velocity Joint
Based on a double-roller design, the Delphi UTJ II Constant Velocity Joint joint is a premium performance plunging joint that allows the inner and outer roller to conform to the shape of the tripot housing. The inner and outer balls "tip" relative to one another, resulting in a unique constant velocity joint with less internal friction, significantly reduced "shudder", lower generated axial force, and more when compared to similar joints.
Benefits
- Up to 65 percent reduction in internally generated forces compared to standard tripot joint
- Mechanical efficiency
- Design flexibility
- Low axial stroke effort helps isolate passenger compartment from engine vibration
- Durable thermoplastic seals improve field reliability when compared to similar joints due to enhanced tear, puncture, and abrasion resistance
- Impervious to environmental degradation at temperatures up to 100°C continuous
- Large stroke-angle capacity when compared to similar joints
- Compatibility with a variety of suspensions and engine mounting systems
- Cold-formed housing for superior wear resistance
