Performance Advantages
The principal component of the Delphi EPIC Diesel Fuel Injection System is its fuel injection pump which includes Delphi's proven cam pumping mechanism. Fuel enters the pumping chamber via a transfer pump. The ECU, which receives input from sensors positioned at various points in the vehicle, the engine, and the pump, sends the appropriate signals to the pump's drain and feeds pump actuators to operate at chosen timing and fuel delivery and enables accurate control of the fuel injection.
