Delphi Smart Remote Actuators (SRA) are electromechanical devices that actuate engine features, such as variable geometry turbochargers (VGT) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves. They also provide precise rotary position feedback to the engine control unit, which is provided either by a controlled area network (CAN-protocol), or pulse width modulation (PWM-signal).
Their vibration and temperature resistance capabilities enable Delphi SRA to withstand harsh environments. Liquid cooling is also available for extremely high temperature environment applications to protect the brushless motor and the integrated electronics. Integrated electronics enable software and calibration changes without modification of the electronic control unit's software algorithm. In un-powered conditions, the actuators will move into a default position.
