Horizontal Modeling™ is new, simple methodology for designing models using your existing 3D CAD systems. Designers build "smart" models without creating extensive parent-child relationships. All of model features are built from a base set of datums or offset datums. Features are placed and positioned relative to these datums without dependency on the existing model, making design edits quick and easy.

Instantly update design changes throughout the enterprise

With Horizontal Modeling, all features of a 3D solid model, all drawing information, and all related process sheets are contained within a single Master Process Model. When a product designer makes a change to a Master Process Model, all linked documents are automatically updated. There's no need to edit multiple files and no need to dismantle or rebuild a design—even for complex parts. The result? A huge time-savings.

Platform independent, vendor neutral

Designers can use this methodology with nearly any 3D CAD system. At Delphi, it's currently used with Unigraphics®, CATIA® and Solidworks®, but known to work in all leading 3D CAD systems.
